Adam Tarpley has extensive work experience in various industries. Adam began their career as a Student Manager at Texas Tech University Office of Annual Giving from 2002 to 2004. Adam then worked as a Sales Representative at Republic Beverage Company for a brief period in 2005. Following this, they served as a Business Development Specialist at Precise Land Surveying, Inc. until 2006. Adam then worked as a Personal Banker at Bank of America for a year before joining Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a Management Assistant from 2007 to 2008. Subsequently, they joined Mesquite Independent School District as a Teacher/Coach and held this role for a tenure of 11 years, from 2008 to 2019. Currently, they are employed as the Director of Human Resources at Whataburger of Mesquite, Inc., a position they have held since June 2019.

Adam Tarpley completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Marketing from Texas Tech University, specifically from the Rawls College of Business, during the period of 2001 to 2004. Adam then pursued a Master's degree in Human Resources Management from Colorado State University Global from 2019 to 2021.
