Dave was born in the suburbs of Chicago and has been a person driven by his personal motto, "please evolve." He earned his degree at Eastern Illinois University, where he studied Graphic Design. He then furthered his education at the Illinois Institute of Art focusing on multimedia. During this time, Dave worked as an interactive developer for a design firm, was an intern at a marketing agency and he worked on freelance projects for start up companies. The freelance work lead Dave to a broadcast production company, TeamWorks Media, where he met Steve Mazik. Three years later, in 2007, what2design was founded.

With over 10 years experience in the design field, Dave has been exposed to a wide gamut of projects and clients. He has designed logos, stationery, email marketing communications, brochures, flyers, web banners, advertisements, posters, interfaces, motion graphics and icon sets and has been an illustrator, story board artist, brand manager, IT consultant, 3D modeler and interactive developer. This versatility has allowed Dave to work with Patrón Tequila, Comcast, University of California, Auditorium Theatre, Harlem Globetrotters, Allstate, Guardian Insurance, Wilson Sporting Goods, Lettuce Entertain You, Chicago Bulls, Bears, White Sox, Sky and Fire. In addition, Dave has also worked with various restaurants, artists and musicians.

In robot mode, Dave continues to build upon his skill set by going through books and tutorials on iOS app building, motion graphics and content management systems. He is also getting involved in microcontrollers and Arduino kits. In human mode, he is in amazement by how fast his kids are growing and how much they are learning. He is excited about making travel plans, cooking and binge watching t.v. shows with his wife. He also likes to play guitar and drums, take photos, sketch, procrastinate about painting, brew beer, and camp.
