Emma Jelsma has extensive experience in communications and creative writing, currently serving as a Communications Adviser to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor at Whangarei District Council since 2018, where responsibilities include managing communications and supporting the council's communications team. Previously, Emma worked as the Creative Director at Wordperfect from April 2007 to October 2018, overseeing various SEO copywriting projects and managing corporate social media accounts. Emma's career began as an English Teacher at Korean English Schools from January 2002 to November 2005, focusing on all aspects of curriculum development and teaching students of various ages. Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Otago, earned from 1998 to 2001.
