John Buckner is an experienced broadcast journalist with a strong background in news assignment editing and reporting. Since June 2018, John has served as an Assignment Editor at WFTS-TV, managing field reporters and photographers while responding to breaking news. Prior roles include Assignment Desk Editor at WPLG from September 2014 to June 2018 and at WSVN CHANNEL 7 from April 2012 to September 2014, where responsibilities included managing live crews and verifying facts with local law enforcement. Early career experience includes writing for newscasts and reporting for the Pompano Pelican, focusing on local community issues. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Temple University and completed a Broadcast Journalism Seminar at The Leadership Institute.
