Becca Blackman has a diverse work experience in the field of GIS and IT. Becca started their career as a Park Aide/Washington Conservation Corps at Washington State Parks, where they maintained grounds and facilities and provided customer service. Becca then worked as a Water Quality Specialist at Island County, where they gathered and analyzed surface water quality samples using GIS. Becca also served as a GIS Administrator and GIS Coordinator at Island County, where they implemented an Enterprise GIS, managed map changes, and provided training and support for GIS integration.
Following their time at Island County, Becca joined Weyerhaeuser as a GIS Analyst, leading the data team and performing assessments to recommend improvements in workflows. Becca later served as a Business Functional Lead, ensuring successful implementation of transportation technology improvements and promoting collaboration between business groups and IT. Currently, Becca is the Contract and Settlement IT Team Lead at Weyerhaeuser, supervising and guiding the Log Inventory Management team and delivering innovative IT solutions.
Becca Blackman, MGIS, GISP, holds a Master's degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of Washington, which was obtained in the years 2012 to 2014. Becca also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Geography- Resource Management from Western Washington University, which was earned in the years 2005 to 2007. Additionally, Becca possesses a GISP certification from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI).
