Lucia Murguia has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Lucia is currently working as the Central Texas Business Development Manager at Westwood Professional Services since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Garver as a Business Development Manager from September 2019 to December 2021. Lucia has over 8 years of experience in this role and holds a Master of Arts (MA) focused in Journalism/Communications from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) focused in Multimedia Journalism from The University of Texas at El Paso.

Before joining Garver, Lucia worked at Aguirre & Fields, LP where they held multiple positions. Lucia served as a Business Development Manager from June 2015 to September 2019. In this role, they performed business development and account management efforts within Central Texas markets, maintained internal customer relationship management systems, and handled proposal strategy/development, advertising, conference coordination, and communications development. Prior to this, they worked as a Marketing Intern at the same company from June 2014 to June 2015. In this role, they prepared proposals and presentations, managed pursuit processes, and disseminated internal and external communications.

Lucia also has experience in the field of journalism. Lucia worked as an Editorial Intern at McCombs School of Business from June 2014 to August 2014, where they wrote and edited articles for the publication website. Lucia also worked as an Intern at The Austin Chronicle from April 2013 to July 2013, performing tasks such as researching, blogging, and editing stories.

In 2011, Lucia gained experience in the real estate industry by working as a Realtor Assistant at Exit Realty West. Lucia assisted in home tours, market price determination, and branding for real estate agents.

During their education, Lucia took on various roles. Lucia worked as an Intern at KINT Noticias 26 Univision from January 2011 to May 2011, where they wrote news stories, operated cameras, edited videos, and conducted interviews. Lucia also served as a Senator-at-Large for Student Government Association at The University of Texas at El Paso from May 2010 to May 2011, organizing events and fundraising activities. Additionally, they worked as a Research Student for Rare Conservation during the summer of 2010, documenting the effects of overfishing and illegal logging in Indonesian national parks. Lucia also worked as an Entertainment Correspondent for The Prospector Newspaper from June 2009 to May 2010, writing articles and creating multimedia content.

Lucia's passion for writing and reporting is evident from their role as a Staff Writer at Borderzine from January 2010 to May 2011, where they interviewed, reported, and published articles on dual-language issues.

Lucia Murguia obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Multimedia Journalism from The University of Texas at El Paso, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at The University of Texas at Austin, where they completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Journalism from 2012 to 2015.
