Ken Wooley is the current General Manager of the Rosebud Mine at Westmoreland Coal Co. Prior to their current position, Ken held various management positions at Peabody Energy, Rio Tinto, and K&F Engineers, P.A. Ken has over 28 years of experience in the mining industry.

Ken started their career in 1993 as a Design Engineer at K&F Engineers, P.A. Ken then moved to Rio Tinto in 1995, where they held positions such as Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Engineer. In 2002, Ken was promoted to General Manager at Rio Tinto, a position they held for two years before being promoted to Director of Asset Management. Ken left Rio Tinto in 2010 to join Peabody Energy as their Operations Manager - Maintenance. Ken held this position for 11 years before joining Westmoreland Coal Co as their General Manager in May 2021.

Ken Wooley attended Duke University for their business leadership education and earned their BSME from Montana Tech of the University of Montana. Ken also participated in a leadership development program at IMD Business School.

They are on a team with Tim Doucette - General Manager, Genesee Mine, Tim Martinson - General Manager, Absaloka Mine, and Nathaniel Huckabay - General Manager, Poplar River Mine. Ken Wooley reports to Joe Micheletti, COO.
