Doug Conrad has had two main work experiences in their career. From July 2001 to the present, they have been the Director of Academic Technology and iTunes U producer at Westmont College. Prior to that, from July 1988 to June 2001, they worked as the Executive Director of Santa Barbara Youth Productions, a Christian non-profit touring youth theater company. In this role, they were responsible for staff development, creative direction, and financial strategic planning for the touring performing musical theatre group.

Doug Conrad earned a Master's degree in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music and Political Science from UC Santa Barbara between 1980 and 1983.
