Matthew Monfils is an experienced professional with a background in mechanical engineering and a focus on various engineering projects. Currently, Matthew serves as a manager at The Viking Yurt, overseeing lunch operations at a high-end mid-mountain lodge since December 2022. As a river guide for Western River Expeditions since May 2021, Matthew contributes to outdoor recreational experiences. Prior experience includes a role as System Engineer II at General Dynamics Electric Boat and as an engineering intern at Btech Acoustics LLC, where Matthew led significant projects involving physical measurements and the development of piezoelectric ceramic transducers. Additionally, Matthew gained research experience as a research intern at URI Micro and Nanoscale Energy Laboratory, focusing on the heat transfer properties of nanofibers. Matthew holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.
