Joel Newman began their work experience in 2006 as the Program Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley. In 2007, they became the President of Illinois LeaderCorps. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of Director of Community Partnerships for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley. Finally, in 2012, Joel joined Western Illinois Home Health Care as the Director of Business Development.

Joel Newman graduated from Western Illinois University in 2004 with a BA in History and Education. Prior to that, they attended Black Hawk College from 1999 to 2001 where they earned an AA in History.
