Marie Edgley is a seasoned professional in conservation and biodiversity management, currently serving as a Senior Operations Officer for Western Shield at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions since July 2017. This role involves overseeing initiatives to protect Western Australia’s native wildlife by managing predation by foxes and feral cats across a vast area. Previously, Marie worked as an Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator, facilitating joint management arrangements for Noongar people in the southwest region. With experience as a Regional Leader in Conservation and a Conservation Officer focused on flora recovery in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt and Eastern Jarrah Forest, Marie has a solid background in managing threatened plant species. Additionally, Marie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Biology and a Graduate Certificate in Business Executive Leadership and Management, both from Murdoch University.
