Carol DeFilippis has worked in various roles within the medical education field for multiple hospitals and medical centers. From 1981 to 1985, they worked at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center as a Quality Assurance Analyst and later as an Assistant Risk Manager. From 1988 to 1995, they worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital as a Professional Liability Consultant, Assistant Risk Manager, Administrator On Duty, Administrator of Graduate Medical Education, and Consultant of Graduate Medical Education. From 2004 to 2013, they worked at Columbia University Medical Center as the Administrative Director of Education for the Department of Anesthesiology, before becoming the Associate Chair for Education/Chief Education Officer for the same department. Finally, since 2014, they have been the Administrative Director of Medical Education at Westchester Medical Center.
Carol DeFilippis attended Stuyvesant High School. Carol then went on to St. John's University where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospital Administration and Business Administration. Carol also studied Health Services Administration at New York University. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality from the National Association for Healthcare Quality in December 2022.
