Katie Jarrell, MSIMC, currently serves as the Communications Coordinator for the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission since July 2022. In addition to this role, Katie has been a Freelance Communications Consultant with Elk Creek Creative since December 2017. Previous experience includes positions as a Social Media Specialist at West Virginia University from June 2021 to July 2022 and as an Enrollment Marketing and Communications Specialist at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College from November 2018 to June 2021. Katie has also worked with Planned Parenthood South Atlantic as a Digital Organizer and held various roles in marketing, social media management, and graphic design during their career, including a position as Web and Social Media Manager at New South Media, Inc. and a Disk Jockey/Promotions staff member at WWVU-FM. Katie holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a focus on Marketing and Advertising from the same institution.
