Dave Shopay has over four decades of experience in law enforcement and telecommunications management. Since December 2000, Dave has served as the Telecommunication Manager for West Valley City, overseeing the procurement, activation, programming, training, and maintenance of wireless communication devices, while managing an annual budget exceeding $2.2 million. Prior to this role, Dave had a distinguished career at the West Valley City Police Department from November 1980 to November 2000, holding various positions including Police Officer, Sergeant, Juvenile Investigator, School Resource Officer, and Training Sergeant. Dave began their career as a Police Officer at Midvale City Police from July 1978 to November 1980. Educational qualifications include a BS in Psychology from Brigham Young University and a BS in Sociology/Criminology from the University of Utah.
