Richard Collinge has a diverse work experience in the field of sports medicine and performance. Richard has served as the Performance Director at West Ham United FC since 2023 and as the Head of Medical Services since 2018. Prior to this, Richard was an Honorary Lecturer at UCL and a First Team Physiotherapy Consultant at Brentford Football Club in 2018. Richard also worked as the Head of Therapy and Rehabilitation at Impact de Montréal FC in 2017 and as the Head of Medical at Watford Football Club from 2015 to 2016. Richard has also held academic positions, such as an Honorary Lecturer and Senior Clinical Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire and as a Lecturer at MEDSONTRACK SPORTSMED SERVICES LIMITED. Richard has also held various roles at Wigan Athletic FC, Cardiff City Football Club, and Watford Football Club. Throughout their career, Richard has focused on screening, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and recovery strategies for professional athletes, as well as leading and managing medical teams.
Richard Collinge completed their education in a chronological manner. In 1987 to 1995, they attended Blythe Bridge High School. Richard then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Nottingham from 1995 to 1998. Following this, from 2005 to 2009, they completed a Master's degree in Sports Physiotherapy (MSc Sports Physiotherapy) from UCL. Most recently, from 2020 to 2022, they enrolled at Arden University and obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Strategic Leadership (MBA).
