David Curtis has over 40 years of work experience in the field of water resources and hydrometeorology. David began their career in 1975 as a Flash Flood Hydrologist and Operational River Forecaster for the National Weather Service. In 1999, they became the President of NEXRAIN Corporation, where they developed and provided high resolution estimates of rainfall using NEXRAD radar data. NEXRAIN later merged with DIAD to form OneRain. From 2002 to 2006, David served as the Senior Vice President of OneRain. Following that, they worked as the VP of Business Development and Senior Hydrologist at Carlton Engineering from 2006 to 2010. Currently, they hold the position of Sr. Vice President at WEST Consultants, where they lead the company's expansion and serves water resources and hydrometeorology clients nationwide.
David Curtis pursued their education in a meticulous manner, focusing primarily on engineering disciplines. From 1968 to 1972, they attended Penn State University, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Maryland in 1974 and completed their Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1975. Displaying their commitment to academic excellence, they went on to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to further expand their knowledge, undertaking a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Water Resources. This distinguished journey at MIT lasted from 1977 to 1982. Through their extensive education, David Curtis has honed their expertise and proficiency in engineering, setting a solid foundation for their future endeavors.
