Maeve Zhang has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at WeRide.ai since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Dorabot as a Business Director from September 2021 to October 2022, and as a Spokesperson and PR Director from October 2018 to October 2022. Maeve also held the position of Social Media Operation Manager at HOMNICEN GROUP from December 2016 to October 2018. In addition, they worked as a Youth Solution Researcher at UNDP in December 2016 and as Deputy Fashion Editor at The Oxford Student from January 2016 to May 2016. Prior to that, they served as Publicity Officer at the Tsinghua University Alumni Association in the UK and Communications Officer at Kellogg College MCR Committee, University of Oxford from 2015 to 2016. Maeve started their career as a Program Manager at Beijing Forward Foundation from October 2014 to July 2015. Lastly, they gained research experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Southern California in July-August 2012.

Maeve Zhang completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Chinese Language and Literature from Tsinghua University in the years 2010 to 2014. In 2012 to 2013, they also participated in an International Exchange program in Chinese Language and Literature at National Taiwan University. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology at the University of Oxford from 2015 to 2016.
