Damon-lee Pointon is a Bioinformatician at Wellcome Sanger Institute, contributing to the Darwin Tree of Life Project as part of the Genome Reference Informatics Team and the Tree of Life Assembly team since September 2019. Damon-lee holds a BSc in Bioinformatics from Anglia Ruskin University, completed in February 2023, and has organized online bioinformatics sessions for the Biodiversity Genomics Academy. Previous roles include founding Molecular Media UK, tutoring biology at Tutora Ltd, and serving as a microbiology laboratory technician at SGS. Educational background features a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Nottingham Trent University and a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science.
