Mikko Nevalainen has a diverse range of work experience. Mikko began their career in 2001 as a trainee at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, where they worked as an Operator. In 2002, they worked as a Computer Technician at WaveQ Systems Oy for a brief period. Mikko then transitioned to Corenet Oy in 2003, where they served as a Telecommunications Specialist until 2007. During this time, they developed expertise in the field. Mikko then joined Proxion Oy in 2007 as a Project Manager, performing various tasks such as project coordination, procurement, and tracking. Their time at Proxion Oy came to an end in 2017. Afterward, they joined Welado as a Project Manager, focusing on construction consultancy and project management.
Mikko Nevalainen began their education in 1995 and completed their Finnish Matriculation Examination at Järvenpää High School in 1998. Mikko then pursued further studies at Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications. Alongside their formal education, Mikko also obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2019, they became a Certified Professional in Safety Passport - Functional Safety and SIL for Safety Systems (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511) from RISKNOWLOGY. In 2020, they acquired a Track Work Safety Qualification ("ratatyöturvallisuuspätevyys, Turva") from Proxion Plan Oy. Additionally, Mikko obtained a Work Safety Card ("työturvallisuuskortti") from Alertum Oy in 2017, an SFS-6002 certification in Electrical Safety at Work in 2012, and a Platform Work Qualification ("laiturityöpätevyys, Laituri") from Proxion Plan Oy in 2010.
