Jason R. McLaughlin has a diverse work experience in the mental health field. Jason R. started their career in 2004 as a Research Assistant at Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute. In 2005, they joined Wedge Recovery Centers as a Mental Health Therapist and later took on various leadership roles including Director, Program Coordinator, and Executive Director. In 2013, they started their own Private Practice as a Psychotherapist and Associate in Psychoanalysis while still maintaining their position at Wedge Recovery Centers as the Chief Operating Officer. In May 2018, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Wedge Recovery Centers.

Jason R. McLaughlin, MS, MSS, LCSW, CPRP, completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Saint Joseph's University from 1999 to 2003. Jason R. then pursued a Master of Science degree in Experimental Psychology from Saint Joseph's University, which they obtained from 2002 to 2004. Later, they attended Bryn Mawr College from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Master of Social Service (MSS) degree in Clinical Social Work.

In terms of certifications, Jason obtained the title of Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the Pennsylvania Board of Social Workers in November 2012. Jason R. also holds the designation of Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner from the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA), obtained in 2010.
