Shalini Avasarala, MPP, has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. The most recent position they held was as a Manager, Client Experience at Weber Shandwick starting in June 2023. Prior to that, they worked in the U.S. House of Representatives in different roles, including Press Secretary, Deputy Press Secretary/Digital Director, Legislative Correspondent/Press Assistant, Staff Assistant, and Policy Intern. Shalini also worked as a Development Assistant at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance from November 2016 to August 2018, where they helped with donor cultivation, event planning, and donor correspondence. In 2018, they served as a Social Media Manager for The Tab, an online newspaper at the University of Oregon, where they collaborated with other clubs and covered campus events on Instagram. Shalini also gained legal experience as a Summer Intern at the Law Offices of Reuben J. Donig, where they assisted with legal document editing, deposition summaries, and attended client meetings, mediations, and court dates.
Shalini Avasarala, MPP, pursued their Master's in Public Policy (MPP) with a focus on Health and Education Policy at George Mason University from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Oregon, where they studied from 2014 to 2018.
