Rohith Desikan has over 8 years of professional experience in the fields of software engineering, data science, data analytics, investment advisory, and subsea engineering. In 2020, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer for WeaveGrid. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Data Scientist for Affiliated Engineers, Inc. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Data Analytics Fellow for the US Green Building Council, where they analyzed yearly GRESB survey data, gathered and scored data on real estate investment trusts, and benchmarked the global real estate market's contribution to meeting the COP21 climate goals. From 2014 to 2016, they were an Investment Advisory and Portfolio Management Intern for Falcon Investment Advisors, where they created a portfolio of data and a template for future investments, and compiled PowerPoint presentations on the Indian market. From 2012 to 2014, they were an Undergraduate Math Teaching Assistant and Student Researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology. During this time, they taught calculus and differential equations, conducted experiments to measure the thermal conductivity of various engineering fiber sized materials, and analyzed the amount by which this superior thermal conductivity of carbon fiber reduces airplane mass. In 2013, they were a Subsea Engineering and 3D Design Intern for Oceaneering, where they worked hands-on on ROVs, performed electrical wiring, and pump connecting and testing.

Rohith Desikan obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2011 and 2014. Rohith then went on to Stanford University where they obtained a Master's Degree in Environmental and Systems Engineering between 2015 and 2017. In 2019, they attended The Data Incubator, where they obtained a Program Graduate certification.
