Kathy L. has a diverse work experience. Kathy began their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Flipboard in 2015, where they worked on the Site Reliability team and automated frequent engineering tasks. In 2014, they were a Software Engineering Intern at Palo Alto Networks, where they designed and implemented an internal web portal for an ML-based URL classifier. Kathy then moved to Google in 2016, where they worked as a Software Engineer on Full-stack Android development and the Cloud Datastore and Firestore backend. In 2022, Kathy became a CELI Fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute, where they completed a clean energy curriculum and capstone project. Most recently, they joined WeaveGrid as a Software Engineer in 2021.

Kathy L. holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Computer Science from Rice University and has studied Informatics at The University of Edinburgh.
