James O'Connor has a diverse work history that spans multiple industries and roles. James has held positions at Weatherford, Flexous, Transmark Holdings N.V., Schlumberger, and Mackie International. In their most recent role as the VP Global Shell Account at Weatherford, they served as the Shell Global Account Director, promoting Weatherford at the senior management levels in Shell and progressing initiatives that delivered commercial success for both parties. Prior to that, they worked as the Business Development Manager at Flexous. In their role as the COO of Transmark Holdings and MD of Transmark Services, they set up a drilling service business in Turkey focused on the geothermal sector and was accountable for all aspects of the operation, including recruiting and building a motivated team, creating a brand and marketing collateral, establishing an operational support base, and managing financial statements and reporting. At Schlumberger, they held multiple positions including Global BDM for Drilling Technology, Global Account Manager, Operations Manager in various regions, Drilling Engineering Manager, Business Development Manager for the North Sea, Field Service Manager for North Sea Operators, Drilling Engineer for BP Wytch Farm, and Drilling Engineer for BP ETAP Project. These roles involved managing teams, developing and delivering business plans, overseeing operations, and driving technology development and sales. Prior to their career in the energy industry, they worked as a Design Engineer at Mackie International, where they gained valuable experience in machinery design and manufacturing processes.
James O'Connor attended The University of Edinburgh from 1989 to 1993, where they earned a 1st Class Hons degree in Engineering, specializing in Electrical & Mechanical.
