Lloyd Russell is an Applied Scientist at Wayve since July 2021, focused on developing artificial intelligence for autonomous vehicles. Previously, at UCL from 2013 to July 2021, Lloyd held roles as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist and PhD Research Scientist, where significant contributions included designing experiments to test neuroscientific theories, optimizing multi-laser multi-photon systems, and implementing brain-machine interfaces. Additionally, Lloyd led workshops at the Champalimaud Foundation in 2017, teaching advanced optical methods for neuroscience. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Neuroscience and an MS in Neuroscience from UCL, along with a BS in Biochemistry from King's College London. Research interests encompass generative AI, world models, language modeling, offline reinforcement learning, causal confusion, and uncertainty estimation.
