Yang Wang is a Senior Software Engineer at Waymo, having joined the company in June 2020. Previously, Wang held research internships at Kwai Y-Lab, focusing on reinforcement learning for stroke-based painting, and at Facebook AI Research, contributing to video understanding under the guidance of Gedas Bertasius and Lorenzo Torresani. During a research internship at Megvii Research USA, Wang helped develop GIF2Video, a method for enhancing GIF visual quality, and introduced the GIF-Faces and GIF-Moments datasets for training and evaluation. Wang earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Information Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.
