Santosh A. is a seasoned engineering leader with substantial experience in the fields of artificial intelligence, data engineering, and software architecture. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Waymo since September 2023, Santosh previously held the position of Senior Director of AI & Platforms at PayPal, where leadership included advancing machine learning and generative AI capabilities. Prior to PayPal, Santosh contributed as a Distinguished Architect at Ericsson, focusing on AI and ML integration into 5G networks. A tenure at SAP as VP of Architecture involved developing the SAP Leonardo AI & Data intelligence platform, while earlier experience as a Software Engineer at IBM further solidified technical foundations. Educational qualifications include a graduate degree in Artificial Intelligence from Stanford University and a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIIT Hyderabad.
