Ellis Chen is an experienced professional in the autonomous driving and data analytics sectors, currently serving as the Head of Commercial Operations at Waymo since 2020, where leadership includes managing ridehail commercial operations and validation efforts and overseeing Remote and Roadside Assistance teams. Prior to Waymo, Ellis held a position in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics at Tesla from 2011 to 2019 and worked as a Research Scientist in Autonomous Driving at Ford Motor Company from 2007 to 2011, focusing on whole vehicle testing systems and related operational planning. Ellis holds a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Peking University.
