Philip Hoyle has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Philip most recently worked at Wayland Additive as a Senior Engineer, specializing in Electron Beam Development and Applications. Prior to that, they were self-employed as a Gaussian Electron-Beam Product Specialist and Applications consultant. Philip also worked at Reliance Precision Limited as a Senior Engineer, focusing on Electron Beam Development and Applications. Additionally, Philip has experience working at Vistec as a Senior Product Specialist, LEICA MICROSYSTEMS CAMBRIDGE LIMITED as a Senior Product Specialist, Censor AG in product development, applications, and technical marketing, Perkin-Elmer Censor AG as an Internal Applications Engineer for optical stepper lithography tools, and Balzers AG as an intern during industrial training. Philip has significant expertise and knowledge in electron-beam lithography systems, powder-bed fusion processes, and optical lithography tools.

Philip Hoyle completed their Bachelor's Degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge from 1981 to 1984. Philip then pursued further education at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Microelectronics from 1990 to 1994.
