Laddy has been working in education since graduating from UCLA in 2018. Growing up in a family of educators, teaching has always been a part of his life. Beginning with his teaching career through Teach for America in Los Angeles. While teaching, he also worked to earn his Master’s in Urban Education from the Loyola Marymount School of Graduate Education, with his graduating thesis assessing the prevalence of SEL education in local public schools. In South Los Angeles, he taught middle school social studies for three years focusing on 6th Grade Early History and 8th Grade Ethnic Studies. He then went on to teach high school government and economics at a Dallas ISD Choice School.
During his time in the classroom, Laddy was a grade leader, SEL coach and mentor as well as SEL lead for his school. He worked hard to ensure that all students were given the tools to succeed both in and out of the classroom. While he is no longer working in the classroom, Laddy is still working to improve student outcomes by writing and developing curriculum for Wayfinder.
