Lande Ajose has a diverse work experience in various positions related to public policy, higher education, and advocacy. Lande is currently serving as the Managing Director & Chief of Staff at Waverley Street Foundation. Prior to that, they held the role of Vice President and Senior Fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California. Lande also served as a Senior Policy Advisor for Higher Education in the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom.
Additionally, Lande Ajose has held leadership positions in organizations such as the California Student Aid Commission, where they served as the Chair, and California Competes, where they served as the Executive Director. Lande has also worked at The Opportunity Institute as a Senior Vice President and at Informing Change as a Managing Director. Lande started their career as a Research Associate at MDRC and later worked as a Senior Program Officer at the James Irvine Foundation.
Throughout their career, Lande Ajose has been dedicated to promoting educational opportunities, addressing income inequality, and driving economic growth through policy solutions.
Lande Ajose holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. They also obtained a Master's degree in Urban Planning from UCLA and an AB degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs, Theater from Occidental College.
