Yan Gao is a Senior Scientist at Wave Life Sciences since November 2018, contributing to the advancement of a stereopure nucleic acid platform for treating rare diseases, focusing on safety aspects in molecular pathology during preclinical development. Prior to this role, Yan Gao worked at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research from February 2004, coordinating project teams for preclinical safety and utilizing molecular localization tools to predict compound toxicity. Yan Gao also conducted pharmacodynamics studies in rodent oncology models and performed various assays supporting oncology pharmacology. Previous experience includes a Senior Histologist position at Toxikon Corporation, a Research Associate II role at Cardion Pharmaceuticals Inc., and a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Tufts University School of Medicine, with a focus on the mechanisms of multidrug resistance. Yan Gao holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biotechnology from Ghent University and a B.S. in Biology from Jinan University.
