Philippe Schoonen has a robust background in hydraulic engineering with a Master's degree from Delft University of Technology. Since November 2015, Philippe has served as Afdelingshoofd Onderzoek & Advies at Waterschap Drents Overijsselse Delta, holding additional roles as Kwartiermaker onderzoek en innovatie and Technisch manager HWBP. Key projects include technical management of various explorations such as Stadsdijken Zwolle and Veilige Vecht, as well as project management for innovative initiatives like Gras op Zand. Prior to this, from April 2006 to December 2015, Philippe was Head of the Flood Protection Advisory Group and a Project Engineer at Witteveen+Bos, leading efforts focused on flood control and prevention. Philippe’s early career included a traineeship at Archirodon Construction at the LNG terminal Idku.
