Rachelle Wiersma is a dedicated educator and literacy specialist with extensive experience in various teaching and administrative roles. Currently serving as a Literacy Teacher at Waterloo Community School District since June 2022, Rachelle has previously held positions as a Consulting Teacher, Assistant Principal, and English Teacher in Sioux City Community School District, where notable achievements included leading a comprehensive writing initiative and developing a data collection tool that significantly improved student writing scores. In addition to extensive teaching experience, Rachelle has contributed as a Freelance Writer for the University of Iowa and has held various positions in higher education, including English Instructor, Education Coordinator, and grant writing consultant. Rachelle holds an Education Specialist degree in School Administration, a Master’s in English, and a Bachelor’s in English Education.
