Lynne Varner serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Washington STEM, leading the nonprofit in its mission to leverage STEM education for social change and creating economic security through partnerships with organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to this role, Lynne held various positions at Washington State University, including Associate Vice Chancellor, where strategic leadership for the Everett campus was provided, and Associate Vice President of Public Affairs, overseeing communications and public relations. Lynne's journalism career includes serving on the Editorial Board of The Seattle Times and as a staff writer for The Washington Post. Educational credentials include a Certificate in Strategic Communications from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
