Katja Fort Rhoden serves as a member of the Howard County Democratic Central Committee and the Board of Directors for Emerge Maryland, focusing on engaging and training Democratic women to run for office. Additionally, Katja is involved with the United Network for Organ Sharing's Lung Transplantation Committee and serves on the Ethics Committees for both Infinite Legacy and Donate Life Maryland, addressing ethical issues in organ procurement and transplantation. The volunteer commitment includes being a Donate Life Ambassador for the Washington Regional Transplant Community. Past leadership roles include board memberships with the Maryland State Rehabilitation Council and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia, as well as serving as Chair of Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator for Therapeutic & Recreational Riding Center. Katja holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Maryland University College, with additional education from the University of Miami and Atholton High School.
