Karen Heldt is an experienced professional in the fields of education and social services. Currently serving as a Program Communication & Education Specialist at the Washington County Sheriff's Office since January 2002, Karen focuses on jail programs, providing community resources to adults in custody, serving as a certified GED proctor, and teaching situation-based ESL programs. Previously, Karen worked as a Reading Instructor for Beaverton School District from 1995 to 2002, where responsibilities included instructing reading groups and supporting special education needs. Earlier roles included serving as a Residential Counselor at The Christie School and Rosemont School, working with emotionally disturbed children and teenagers. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Linfield University, graduated in 1990.
