Michael Zender is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in real estate and lending. Currently serving as Senior Counsel at Walmart since September 2023, Michael previously held the position of Deputy General Counsel/SVP at UNFI from July 2018 to June 2023. As a Sole Practitioner at Zender Law LLC from August 2016 to June 2018, Michael established a successful practice that expanded from one major banking client to four. Michaelā€™s earlier roles include Senior Attorney at Jellum Law, P.A., managing a $50 million loan portfolio, and Regional Counsel/Director of Projects at the Trust for Public Land, where responsibilities included overseeing acquisitions and managing leasing across multiple offices. Michael commenced a legal career as a Senior Associate at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly, focusing on real estate transactions and loan representation. Michael holds a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a BA in English Language and Literature from Saint John's University.
