Laura Edwards has a diverse work experience spanning across various companies and roles. Laura currently works as the Head of Talent at Wakam, where they lead the talent acquisition, talent management, and talent development squads. Prior to that, they were the Global Head of Employer Branding, Diversity & Inclusion at Back Market, where they spearheaded the creation of the career site and managed brand partnerships.
Before joining Back Market, Laura spent several years at Nike, where they held multiple roles including Global Talent Acquisition Manager, Global Talent Acquisition Director (Acting), and Talent Acquisition Manager (EMEA). Laura was responsible for strategic recruitment planning, managing a virtual team of recruiters, and optimizing talent acquisition teams globally. Laura also managed recruitment at the executive level and had deep experience in the global retail landscape.
Earlier in their career, Laura worked at Harrods as a Recruitment Advisor, where they implemented a strategic recruitment plan and developed creative sourcing methods. Laura also worked at Pret A Manger as a Recruitment Centre Manager, where they significantly reduced the time to fill vacancies and implemented a successful graduate recruitment and training program.
Laura has additional experience as an HR Assistant at Jones Lang LaSalle, an Information Technology Recruitment Consultant at The Kennedy Partnership, and an Industrial and Contracts Recruitment Consultant at Select Appointments UK.
Laura Edwards has a Level 7 Advanced Diploma in HRM from CIPD, a BSc degree in Business Management, Information Systems & Commerce from the University of South Australia, a Diploma in HR Management from CIPD, and a Diploma in Web enabled Databases from Birkbeck, University of London.
