Brandon Elsner has a diverse work experience spanning multiple sectors. Brandon is currently working as the Federal Strategic Services Director at Waggoner Engineering since May 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration from January 2018 to January 2021. In 2019, they worked as a Senior Advisor for Natural Resources at the Executive Office of the President - Council on Environmental Quality, from January to July. Before that, they held the position of Legislative Assistant at U.S. Senator Roger F. Wicker's office from January 2015 to January 2018, and also worked as a Knauss Sea Grant Fellow from January 2014 to January 2015. In 2013, they were a Field Research Assistant at the Coastal Resources Center. Brandon also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island from January 2012 to February 2013. Brandon started their career in 2008 as a Rural Development Advisor and later as an Agribusiness Consultant at Peace Corps Nicaragua. From June 2003 to September 2007, they worked as a Commercial Fisherman Crewmember on the F/V Shadowfax.
Brandon Elsner obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a focus on Economics and Finance from Eastern Washington University between 2003 and 2007. Brandon then pursued further education and achieved a Master of Science degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Rhode Island from 2011 to 2013.
