Matthew Polk has a diverse work experience. Matthew started their career as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University from 2004 to 2007. After that, they worked at Rapoport Academy Public School, first as an Assistant Superintendent from 2008 to 2011, and then as a Superintendent/CEO from 2012 to 2014. From 2015 to 2019, they served as the Executive Director at Prosper Waco. Currently, they are the Chief Operating Officer at Waco Family Medicine, a position they have held since October 2020. Prior to that, they were the Director of Compliance, Risk Management, and Political Affairs at the same organization from September 2019 to October 2020.
Matthew Polk holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics and History from Baylor University, which they completed in 2001. Matthew then pursued a Master of Arts degree in History at Baylor University from 2001 to 2002. Matthew later attended Harvard University, where they obtained their Ph.D. in History between 2002 and 2008. Matthew also achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business from 2012 to 2015. In 2021, they obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education.
