Brian Thiede, PE, currently serves as Engineering Manager at W. O. Grubb Crane Rental since May 2016. Prior to this, Brian was a Project Engineer at Bigge Crane & Rigging from December 2009 to May 2016, where responsibilities included leading engineering projects in heavy rigging, developing equipment for transporting heavy loads, and ensuring compliance with various engineering codes. Significant projects under Brian's leadership involved the design of structural components for a 4000-ton capacity Derrick, replacement of a reactor vessel closure head at a nuclear plant, and the installation of natural gas power plant components. Earlier experience as a Structural/Mechanical Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding involved structural analysis for U.S. Navy ships. Brian holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
