Mari-Ela David Chock is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in communications and community relations. Currently serving as the Community Relations Manager, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Lead, and Communications Officer at W. M. Keck Observatory since March 2017, David Chock has previously held significant roles at the Blue Zones Project - Hawaii as Statewide Engagement Lead, and at PISCES Women STARS as Project Director, where a summer space program aimed at inspiring young women in STEM was established. Prior to these roles, David Chock gained valuable experience as Public Information Officer at the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems and as an award-winning anchor/reporter at major news outlets, including Hawaii News Now and WKOW-ABC. David Chock holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from San Francisco State University and has an established background in journalism that has shaped a successful career in communications.
