Kyle Smoot has over 10 years of experience in software engineering. In 2017, they were the Software Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineer at VUV Analytics, Inc., where they developed the VUVision data analysis software package and released automated build and deployment software application. Kyle was also the technical lead for application messaging architecture and post-processing analysis user interface. In 2016, they were a Senior Software Engineer at BAE Systems, where they developed software, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) vision systems, imaging and countermeasure systems. Kyle also received an impact award for development on an internal project estimation tool, and developed GPS-synchronized datalogging embedded systems, providing tools and scripts for post-acqusition analysis. In the same year, they were a Software Development Engineer at Hiller Measurements, where they were the lead software architect for test and data acquisition applications. Kyle designed calibration, qualification, and acceptance test suite for custom RF switch in 2 months, and architected multi-DUT testing solution for display environmental testing system. From 2008 to 2016, Kyle Smoot was at National Instruments, where they held various roles, including Senior Applications Engineering Specialist - Aerospace & Defense, Applications Engineering Specialist - Embedded Systems, and Applications Engineer - Engineering Leadership Program. In this role, they drove customer success in targeted application areas for one of the largest sales segments in the Americas, and received awards for Support Performance and Specialist of the Year.
Kyle Smoot obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2008. In 2012, they became a Certified LabVIEW Architect with National Instruments and in 2014, they became a Certified TestStand Architect with National Instruments.
