Brent Brunell is a highly experienced professional in the field of digital manufacturing and additive technology. Brent has held various senior executive roles at VulcanForms Inc. and GE Global Research.

At VulcanForms Inc., Brent currently serves as the Vice President of Digital Manufacturing. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Executive in the same field.

During their tenure at GE Global Research, Brent held multiple leadership roles. Brent served as the Senior Executive - Additive Technology Leader, where they led the development of next-generation additive manufacturing machines, materials, processes, software, models, analytics, and controls. Brent also served as the Additive Manufacturing Edge Controls Mission Leader, responsible for creating a disruptive edge controls platform for metal 3D additive manufacturing processes. In addition, Brent served as the Director of Edge Controls, leading a cross-GE mission to build and productize a new Yocto Linux based operating system (EdgeOS) and an ecosystem for secure asset connection and software definition. Brent also served as the Technology Leader for Controls Electronics & Signal Processing, leading a team in the development of technologies for control algorithms, dynamic modeling, real-time optimization, communications, and sensing systems.

Before their tenure at GE Global Research, Brent had an extensive career at GE, where they served as the Power Electronics Lab Manager, managing a team of engineers and developing power conversion solutions for healthcare and aviation industries. Brent also served as the Aviation Systems Program Manager, responsible for growing the Aviation System portfolio and leading projects in electric power, mechanical systems, and avionics. Additionally, Brent held the role of Control System Research Engineer, where they led various research programs in aviation safety and autonomous propulsion technology.

Brent's work experience also includes their role as an Edison Engineer at GE Aircraft Engines, where they underwent a comprehensive engineering leadership program and gained experience in stress and lifing analysis, controls, performance, and field engineering.

Overall, Brent Brunell has demonstrated a strong track record of leadership and expertise in various aspects of digital manufacturing, additive technology, power electronics, aviation systems, controls, and research.

Brent Brunell completed their education in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Brent earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1995 and 2000. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, studying from 1992 to 1994. Brent commenced their academic journey at Berkshire Community College, where they completed an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1990 to 1992.

Additionally, Brent Brunell holds a certification in Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production. Brent acquired this certification in May 2019 from the Smart Manufacturing Online Program provided by MIT Professional Education.
