Eric Sommer, P.E. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the construction industry. Eric served as the VP of Operations at VSL since January 2011. Prior to that, they held the position of Sr. Project Manager at Austin Bridge & Road from 2009 to 2011. Eric also worked at Williams Brothers Construction, Inc. for 12 years, starting in 1997, where they held the roles of VP of Special Projects and Sr. Project Manager. During their tenure at Williams Brothers, they oversaw major infrastructure projects in the Houston and surrounding Texas region, including the Katy Freeway (I-10) Reconstruction. Earlier in their career, Eric worked at Traylor Bros., Inc. as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Estimator from 1985 to 1997.

Eric Sommer, P.E. received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology in the years 1979-1983. Prior to that, they attended Ballard High School from 1975-1979. In addition to their educational background, Eric has obtained various certifications such as ASBI Grouting Technician & Flexible Filler Certifications, PTI Level 2 Bonded Certification, Professional Engineer - TX, and Stay Cable Installation Certification.
