About the Role:
As the Lead Developer - Cloud Infrastructure, you will spearhead the development of our geospatial data management platform, which serves as the backbone of our machine learning product.
You will design, implement, and optimize a sophisticated cloud-based data solution capable of handling large, complex, and non-standard geological data, your efforts will ensure that our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient.Â
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of cloud technologies, geospatial data processing, and data architecture. You will also play a key role in mentoring and guiding other developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and innovation in cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, design, and implement a robust and scalable cloud infrastructure tailored to manage large, complex, and non-standard geological data, ensuring seamless integration with our machine learning products.
Continuously evaluate and optimize the cloud infrastructure to ensure it meets performance, scalability, and resilience requirements as the platform grows and evolves.
Design and enforce security best practices within the cloud infrastructure, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Set up monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health, availability, and reliability of the cloud infrastructure, proactively addressing any issues that arise.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in cloud technologies, and lead the integration of new tools and technologies to improve the platform’s capabilities.
Document code, processes, and results for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Work closely with software developers, data engineers, geologists, machine learning experts, and product managers to translate experimental models into production-ready solutions that align with business goals.
Qualifications:
BSc, MSc, in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in an SRE, DevOps or software engineering role
6+ years of experience with various AWS services and tools including but not limited to storage services, compute and container services, ML services and analytics services.
6+ years experience using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and manage cloud infrastructure
6+ years of experience in software development in at least one high-level programming language like Python, Go, Java
Deep understanding of CNCF cloud infrastructure landscape layers from provisioning, orchestration to observability and platform
