Mona Akhavi serves as the President and CEO of VRAI since September 2019 and is a member of the Forbes Business Council as of 2023. Previously, Mona held the position of VP of Marketing at Diamond Foundry and was a Venture Partner at Unanimous Capital. Mona contributed to Startup Grind from 2014 to 2018, focusing on technology, start-ups, and women in leadership. As the CEO and Co-Founder of Sidebuy from 2014 to 2017, Mona developed a data-driven platform linking brands and local retailers with influencers. Earlier career milestones include roles in product management and digital operations at CBC and project management at Reinvent, Inc. Mona's educational background features an MBA from Simon Fraser University, a degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia, and continued executive education at Stanford University.
