Jörg Jacobs has a comprehensive work experience spanning several companies and roles throughout their career. Jörg began their career in 1994 at ART+COM, where they served as a Project Manager, overseeing the development of PC software solutions. In 1999, they joined SMI SensoMotoric Instruments GmbH as the Head of Development for Ophthalmic Devices.

In 2005, Jörg joined Nokia and held two key positions. Initially, they served as the Head of Development for Server & Content Systems, responsible for managing the development of server infrastructure and content systems. Later, they became the Development Search Backend Manager, where they led a team in developing a high-performance backend for map applications.

In 2013, Jörg founded Lightfields GmbH and assumed the role of Managing Director. As the founder, they played a crucial role in the company's establishment and success.

In 2018, they co-founded United Peers GmbH and served as a Senior Partner. In this role, they contributed to the growth and development of the company.

Most recently, Jörg joined VR Smart Guide as the Interim CTO in 2022.

Jörg Jacobs completed their education in the field of Computer Science from Technische Universität Berlin between 1985 and 1995. Jörg obtained a degree known as Dipl. Inform. during this period.
