Sophia Khan-Makoid has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Sophia is currently the CEO & Founder of Voythos_AI, a position they assumed in January 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of Assistant Professor of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) from October 2019. Their work there focused on the treatment of vascular disease, particularly aortic disease and the role of genetics in vascular disease. Sophia actively participated in various research studies, published articles in medical journals, and presented on topics related to vascular surgery.
Before joining UTHealth, Sophia Khan-Makoid worked as an Advanced Endovascular Aortic Fellow at Mayo Clinic from July 2019 to September 2019. Sophia also gained valuable experience as a Vascular Surgery Fellow at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston from July 2017 to June 2019, specializing in both open and minimally invasive treatments for vascular disease.
Sophia Khan-Makoid began their medical career as a General Surgery Resident at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in July 2011, where their training and experience in surgery spanned from July 2011 to June 2017.
Sophia Khan-Makoid completed their Bachelor of Arts in Biological basis of behavior from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007. Sophia then pursued their Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, finishing in 2011.
